Welcome to Wee Lam's Experience Meeting
In the meeting, Charles welcomed Wee Lam, a senior consultant based in Singapore with a specialty in hand and reconstructive microsurgery. Wee shared his experience in organizing the International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand (IFSSH) meeting in London in 2022. He highlighted the freedom given in organizing the program, the challenges faced due to Covid and war, and the decision to maintain a hybrid program. Charles also highlighted Wee’s current role as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Hand Surgery, European volume, chair of the IFSSH Scientific Committee on Congenital Hand Anomalies, and President-elect of the British Society for Surgery of the hand.
 
London Program and Congress Update
Charles discussed with Wee the London program, the role of Jonathan Hobby and the involvement of Wee in the Singapore 2028 meeting. Charles also mentioned the upcoming Opening Ceremony of the Congress on March 24th, where newly elected Pioneers in Hand Surgery are introduced. Wee shared his excitement about the event, highlighting the inspirational stories of the pioneers who have made significant contributions to hand surgery both globally and in their home countries.
 
Upcoming Seminar Pre-Courses Discussed
Charles and Wee discussed the upcoming pre-courses for IFSSH on Monday. They highlighted the speakers and topics for each pre-course, emphasizing the international panelists and the comprehensive coverage of various hand surgery topics. Wee noted the differences in the arrangement of each pre-course, while Charles expressed excitement about the diverse perspectives from around the world. They mention the upcoming courses on operative management of pain, fractures and trauma, and hand and wrist arthritis. 
 
 
Wee discussed the upcoming International Wrist and Hand Arthroscopy Precourse, highlighting the international nature of the program and the expert panel, including Toshi Nakamura, Andrea Atzei, Christoph Madeleine, and Andrew Chin. Charles agreed on the value of engaging with IWAS and other global experts, especially with his growing interest in wrist arthroscopy. The IBRA pre-course, led by Bill Setiz and Wolfgang Hentringer, was also mentioned, focusing on upper extremity fractures and reconstruction. There was a brief discussion on whether attendees of the 2025 IFSSH could attend the pre-courses, but no conclusion was reached.
